Recent Morrisville Ale & Trail Association Hikes

The heat limits us to a short hike down to Cedar Falls on July 24th.  We have lunch at Kildare's Irish pub on Franklin St.
Linda and I visited the Farmers Market in Durham followed by the Strawberry Festival at the Central Park School for Children on a brilliant May 1st.
A core MATA contingent was guided around Staunton, VA on July 17th and enjoyed Othello and southern cooking with locally grown ingredients.
We hiked Duke Gardens on Earth Day, April 24th, while all of the visitors were occupied with the Plant and Craft Sale.
MATA turns out for a hike around the Poet's Walk at Ayr Mount in Hillsborough on July 11th.
On April 17-18th Linda and I scouted Marshall, NC and Wolf Laurel just across the border in Tennessee.  The through-hikers on the Appalachian Trail are just reaching Big Bald in NC and we were there.
After our birthday Luau at Whit's Chapel Hill rambling house last Saturday, we revisit the Cabe Lands on a crystalline July 3rd.  Lunch at Tyler's taproom.

The shady trees around the Historic Occoneechi Speedway Trail kept it cool enough for our trek around the track on the 12th of June.
April 10th took MATA to Occoneechi Mountain and the Saratoga Grill to celebrate Randy's move back to San Francisco on the 14th.
On a hot June 5th we hot foot it around the Meadowmont Community; view the Dubois Manse and Gardens; and relax at the Brixx Pizza Place.

We revisit the ruins of the old Durham Pump Station on the Eno River on the Saturday before Memorial Day, May 29th.
Easter weekend (April 2nd - 4th) was pleasantly spent hiking Mill Mountain in Roanoke, Virginia and enjoying fine dining. 
Jan makes a rare visit with us for our hike of Johnston Mill on May 22nd.  Lunch at our favorite Hillsborough restaurant, Saratoga Grill.
A beautiful March 27th day finds MATA marching down to the Bobbitt Hole to sit by the Eno for a while.  Lunch at Tylers Taproom.
On a 88°F May 15th in Chapel Hill we climb the hills in the NC Botanical Gardens and cool off in their new Education Center.  Lunch at the Nantuckett Grill.
Springlike weather brought us to Johnston Mill on March 20th followed by lunch at the Saratoga Grill, always a favorite.
The recently opened NC Museum of Art is our target for a walk on May 8th with a lunch at the Brickhouse Sports Pub.
We visit frog heaven along the American Tobacco Trail in Durham on March 13th ending at Tyler's Taproom.
Linda and I visited the Farmers Market in Durham followed by the Strawberry Festival at the Central Park School for Children on a brilliant May 1st.
We enjoy a nice day and hike along Ellerbe Creek to the Dog Park on March 6th, ending up at Alivia's restarurant for lunch.
